Podium finish with Lucas Dirt at Florence Speedway during North/South weekend
Rolling to the Bluegrass State for another crown jewel weekend, Mike Marlar was one of 51 Super Late Models checked in with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Florence Speedway (Walton, Ky.) for the 43rd-annual Sunoco North/South 100.
Scoring his best run on opening night, Marlar picked up a heat race win and ran third in the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. He finished behind Garrett Alberson and Devin Moran while Cory Hedgecock and Hudson O'Neal completed the Top-5.
The following night, Mike was poised to sweep the night after qualifying fastest in his group and winning a heat race before a lapped car made contact with him while leading during his feature. Marlar led the first 14 circuits before pulling off with damage.
Marlar raced his way into the 100-lap, $75,000-to-wiin finale on Saturday and finished 14th.
