Marlar soars to runner-up showing in USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway

Mike Marlar made the trip North to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) for the 38th-annual USA Nationals on Thursday afternoon and kicked off his weekend with a eighth-place finish in the $10,000-to-win opener.

With over 50 World of Outlaw Late Models on hand for the crown jewel, Marlar qualified eighth-fastest amongst his stacked group before grabbing the final transfer spot in his heat race. Mike started 16th in the 100-lap finale on Saturday and stormed forward to the front. Marlar wound up second behind Ryan Gustin in the $100,000-to-win show while Hudson O'Neal completed the podium.
