Marlar strings together strong World Finals weekend at Charlotte

Mike Marlar joined a stout field of 65 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) as a scheduled time trial session on Wednesday evening kicked off the 18th annual World Finals.

After a successful round of qualifying on Wednesday, Marlar advanced into Thursday’s opener with a dominating heat race win. Chasing a $15,000 preliminary payday in the feature, Mike rolled to a consistent fourth-place finish.

On Friday, Marlar backed up a heat triumph with a third-place finish in the 35-lap A-Main. He joined Bobby Pierce and Cade Dillard on the podium.

Mike capped off a strong weekend in the World Finals on Saturday evening with another third-place finish in the $25,000-to-win finale. He trailed Chris Madden and Ricky Thornton Jr. to the checkers in the 50-lap affair with Jonathan Davenport and Daulton Wilson rounding out the Top-5.
