Mike Marlar pilots Matt Tifft's No. 57 at Cedar Lake Speedway
Mike Marlar made a guest appearance aboard the Matt Tifft-owned No. 57 Late Model over the weekend for the 37th annual USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.).
After Mother Nature condensed the two World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series twin preliminaries to Friday, Mike’s bid into the $6,000-to-win opener on Friday afternoon fell two spots short with a fourth-place finish in his B-Main.
Later Friday night, Marlar stormed into the final prelim with a sixth-to-second showing in his B-Main. Pinned on the 11th row for the 25-lapper, Mike climbed two positions to finish 20th.
Relegated into a B-Main on Saturday, Mike squeezed into the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals finale with the third-and-final transfer spot in his consolation race. He was running in 19th when persistent rain forced officials to cut the 100-lapper short on lap 56.
