Eighth-place finish in Mountain Moonshine Classic prelim
Mike Marlar was one of 44 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors entered at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday for the two-day Mountain Moonshine Classic.
With officials setting the grid for both preliminary features based on time trial results due to track conditions, Mike followed up the seventh-fastest qualifying lap in his 22-car group with an eighth-place finish in his prelim.
On Saturday, Marlar locked his spot into the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic finale with a consolation victory after finishing one spot out in his heat. Moving forward five positions in the 60-lap affair, Mike recorded a 14th-place finish.
