Marlar grabs $5,000 payday in surprise visit to Mudlick Valley Raceway
Claims $5,000 Heart of America Ultimate Super Late Model Series Payday
WINFIELD, Tenn. (05/28/25) – Mike Marlar capped a busy Memorial Day weekend with a $5,000 Heart of America Ultimate Super Late Model Series triumph in Sunday’s Spring Fling Cheap Chevrolet 40 at Mudlick Valley Raceway.
The Tennessee native led all 40 laps en route to his first victory of the 2025 season, driving a self-designed chassis that he debuted in his Skyline Motorsports entry at the Kentucky oval.
“It feels good to get that first win,” Marlar said. “We’ve had some struggles lately, but the car felt really strong tonight. This is a piece I’ve been working on and tweaking, and it’s great to see that effort pay off. Thanks to each and every person that makes this possible.”
Marlar’s weekend began on Thursday at Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway for the 33rd annual Show-Me 100 weekend. Competing against a 49-car field in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Cowboy Classic, he advanced into the preliminary feature with a runner-up finish in his heat race. He started eighth in the $10,000-to-win main event and ultimately finished 15th.
A miscue in Friday’s heat race dashed his hopes of transferring into the second preliminary feature, and Marlar later opted to withdraw from Saturday’s B-Main, ending his pursuit of the $75,000 top prize in the Show-Me 100 finale.
The team rebounded on Sunday at Mudlick Valley Raceway, where Marlar set fast time in qualifying before picking up a win in his heat race. Carrying that momentum into the 40-lap feature, he delivered a flag-to-flag performance to secure the $5,000 payday, finishing ahead of runner-up Justin Rattliff with Tristan Chamberlain completing the podium.

The slate opens Friday with the inaugural Don Hobbs Classic at Bloomington Speedway, followed by the $10,000-to-win Hoosier Dirt Classic on Saturday at Brownstown Speedway.
