Motor woes spoil Marlar's Topless 100 at Batesville
Mike Marlar resumed Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition over the weekend as Batesville Motor (AR) Speedway hosted the 32nd running of the Topless 100 weekend.
With a preliminary program on Friday, Mike laid down the second-fastest time in his 27-car group before placing first in his heat race. Chasing a $5,000 payday in the prelim, Marlar steered to a consistent fourth-place finish. He followed Ricky Thornton Jr., Dale McDowell, and Tim McCreadie across the line in the 30-lapper with Hudson O’Neal finishing fifth.
Rolling off fourth for Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win Topless 100 finale, Marlar was sidelined on lap 43 while running in fourth with terminal motor issues.
Mike remains in seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
