Marlar enjoys strong Firecracker 100 weekend at Lernerville Speedway

Mike Marlar joined a stout field of 52 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) over the weekend for the 18th annual Firecracker 100 presented by Big River Steel.

With prelims on Thursday and Friday setting the stage for Saturday’s finale, Marlar set himself in good position for the Saturday’s program with a pair of runner-up finishes in both of his preliminary features.

Rolling off on the front row of his heat race on Saturday, Mike stormed into the $50,000-to-win Firecracker 100 with a flag-to-flag triumph in his heat race. Turning in another solid result in the 100-lap feature, Marlar led 5-37 before ultimately crossing the line in third. He joined Ricky Thornton Jr. and Devin Moran on the podium.

Marlar is currently fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
