Mike Marlar locks into Alabama Gang 100 set for September 15th
After Thursday’s stop at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.) fell to wet weather, Mike Marlar followed the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday for the two-day Alabama Gang 100.
With the massive 48-car field divided into two groups, Marlar got behind the eight-ball in time trials and was never able to recover, slipping three positions in his 25-lap prelim feature to finish 16th.
Back on Saturday, Mike raced into the $35,000-to-win Alabama Gang 100 A-Main with a flag-to-flag victory in his heat race. After pulling the ninth-starting spot for the feature, a persistent shower before the 75-lapper hit the track forced officials to postpone the event to September 15th.
