Mike Marlar snags Top-5 finish in Mountain Moonshine Classic
Friday night found Mike Marlar in action at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the doubleheader weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). (Heath Lawson photos)
Drawing 45 cars for a pair of $5,000-to-win preliminary features, Marlar claimed the Allstar Performance Fast Time Award in time trials before picking up a heat race win. Clawing forward one spot in the 30-lap prelim, Mike notched a second-place finish, which came behind Chris Madden.
On Saturday, Mike secured his spot into the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic A-Main with a heat victory. Losing two positions in the 60-lap affair, Mike Marlar recorded a fifth-place finish. He followed Chris Madden, Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Overton, and Ricky Thornton Jr. across the line.
